A concept album from 1963 within a stage play within a live performance, That Sordid Little Story mixes modern American story-telling devices with the traditions of Greek theatre to craft a hilarious and heart-wrenching tale of a boy in search of his past. Upon hearing the first tracks on the new album by the band “That Sordid Little Story,” Billy realizes that they have written the story of his life, thus far, in song. His quest leads him to travel the American Bible Belt in hopes of finding the band, and ultimately the whereabouts of his father. As he stumbles along, his journey begins to shape the rest of the album. But is he a slave to his own fate or really its master?

The Viaduct theater is located in the heart of Roscoe Village on the east side of lower Western Ave, just south of the Western / Belmont / Clybourn intersection. It is accessible on both the Belmont and Western bus routes and by bus transfer from the Red and Blue El lines.
Street parking is available on Clybourn and Barry (a portion of Barry requires a permit), and metered parking on Belmont. Additionally, there is now a parking lot across the street @ the southwest corner of Belmont and Western. The charge is $5 and we ask that you please pay inside at the box office or bar.
Please note that parking underneath the viaduct is now illegal. Parking in front of the theater, due to conflicting regulation signs, as well as behind the theater is completely at your own risk.
