John Holt

John Holt is thrilled to be working with the New Colony! Among John’s DePaul credits are sets for Like a Cow or an Elephant directed by Chuck Smith, Hamlet directed by Lisa Portes and the world premiere production of Robert O’Hara’s Antebellum directed by the author. Recent Chicago designs are Paper Thin Walls for Abraham Werewolf, Paloma Querida, an original dance piece, for Luna Negra Dance Theatre of Chicago, Moonshiner for Jackalope Theatre Company, Arrangements for Pavement Group (both at Pilsen’s EP Theatre) and Underground at the Rhinoceros Theatre Festival. John’s work on A Place with the Pigs for Jane Brody has also been seen at the Vancouver, B.C. Fringe Festival.  John is also a founding member of the Inconvenience, a Lakeview based artists’ syndicate specializing in fostering new works in theatre, music, dance and performance art. He received his BFA in Scenic Design with a minor in Art History from the Theatre School at DePaul University here in Chicago.
