Jared Sprowls

Jared Sprowls is a Chicago based playwright and drag enthusiast whose work often explores queer themes and utilizes nonconventional forms. His play, “Bridget Bishop Presents: The Salem Bitch Trials” was written as part of his thesis in, “Adapting Drag for Conventional Theatrical Forms,” and premiered Off-Broadway in 2016 through the Araca Project. His ten minute play, “Fine Dining,” has been produced at Northwestern University (2015) and the Skokie Theatre (2016). He recently began working as an Artistic Curator at The Den Theatre where he hopes to program exhibit young playwrights’ new work, including his newest play, “Roped: A Gay Cowboy Play.” He holds a B.A. in Theatre from Northwestern University, where he was a part of the Playwriting Sequence and Module.
