When he decided to think outside the Big Apple Box, Jaime had no idea The New Colony was out there, waiting to snatch him up. A native New Yorker, he moved to Chicago after graduating from Yale University in 2009. He arrived all doe-eyed and innocent… a condition quickly ruined by assistant-directing Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche at Sketchbook in 2010. Since then, hopelessly strung out on egg, he worked on the full-length Five Lesbians, and joined up with the revolutionary punks of the Rise of the Numberless. Now, he’s back on the yolk, baking quiches and helping the girls come back together for a run of Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche at the New York City Fringe Festival. He’s also been seen directing in the One Minute Play Festival at Victory Gardens Theater in 2011 and 2012, as well as assistant-directing at Victory Gardens, Steppenwolf, and the Goodman. The road ahead leads back to New York, for now, but knowing this quiche-eater, The New Colony won’t be rid of him any time soon.
